THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION COMMITTEE, with the Pastor and the Religious Education Coordinator, initiates, plans, advises and assists in all adult and youth parish programs of religious education and formation. The Committee serves as an advisory group to the Director of Religious Education. S/he determines parameters so that members have the type of background necessary to benefit Religious Education Programs of Saint Pius X. Sharing with children the Good News of God's love ... helping teenagers discover their relationship with Jesus... working with Special Education students to help them learn and foster their love of God... initiating new members into the Catholic Church ... drawing adults into a deeper experience of faith ... are the types of services the Religious Education Program at Pius offers each year. |

| SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION is an intrinsic part of the Religious Education Program of Pius X. It calls for special commitment of parents as well as students. | |

CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD is a program to serve our pre-school children. The program is for children ages 3-6 and 6-9 and is offered on Tuesdays from 10am - noon or 4pm - 6pm.
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children. It is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. ELEMENTARY EDUCATION is a program of instruction, prayer and ministerial service developed to support families as the first educators of their children in the Faith. This Program supports, develops, and enriches what families are doing by providing weekly instruction, retreats, opportunities for service, and socials according to an annually developed calendar. ALTERNATIVE MODELS, such as Home Study and Family Catechesis, are available by special arrangements. JUNIOR HIGH [GRADES 7 & 8] AND SENIOR HIGH [GRADES 9 THRU 12] YOUTH meet weekly with classes, mini-retreats, socials and sports activities throughout the year. These diverse programs provide an opportunity to grow in appreciation of God's love and to deepen one's relationship with God, self, and the Christian community. SPECIAL EDUCATION is a religious formation group that meets weekly from October to May. It is directed to those young adults who are physically or developmentally challenged. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is a program targeted to youth between age 4 and Grade 6. The school meets for one week during the Summer as an integrated program of Scripture, music, crafts, and games that enable children to celebrate Jesus in their lives. |

ADULT EDUCATION & ENRICHMENT has three main goals: helping individuals and groups understand and live the Gospel to the fullest extent possible; helping to prepare believers to exercise a prophetic voice in today's world; and helping adults share their faith with the next generation. To accomplish these goals, the parish offers an Adult Enrichment Series; Scriptural Education and Formation Programs; and a Young Adult Program for social and spiritual development. |
