Sacramental Celebrations

Saint Pius X is a community of Word and Sacrament. We listen to and study the Scriptures, the Word of God, privately, in small groups, and together in liturgical celebrations. We are also a community of Sacraments, signs instituted by Christ, in which we find and fulfill our identity as Catholic people, building up one another and thus the Kingdom of God, until Jesus Christ comes to present his completed work of redemption to the Father. As often as possible, Pius X Parish celebrates Sacraments in Community.

EUCHARIST is celebrated on weekdays, weekends, and holy days at Pius X. A complete schedule is found each week in the parish bulletin. Eucharist is celebrated either in the Church, the Parish Hall or the Tanque Verde Chapel.

BAPTISM for infants is celebrated once a month during Mass. Adult Baptism is typically celebrated at the Easter Vigil. Arrangements for the celebration of Baptism are made by calling Karen Horton in the parish office.

MATRIMONY may be celebrated either within or apart from the Eucharist. Arrangements for the celebration of Matrimony are made by calling the office. The preparation for the celebration of Matrimony is determined in a meeting with the parish's clergy. Contact Kim Timmermann in the parish office.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK may be celebrated either individually or in community. To arrange for emergency Anointing of the Sick, call the parish office. Communal celebrations of Anointing of the Sick take place throughout the year. In anticipation of surgery, Anointing of the Sick may be celebrated at a liturgy or privately. Additional information is available from the parish office.

RECONCILIATION is celebrated on Saturdays from 4:30 until 4:45 PM and at other times by appointment. Communal celebrations of Reconciliation are scheduled during Advent and Lent and are announced in the Parish Bulletin.

CONFIRMATION is celebrated for both teens and adults. Preparation takes place throughout the year through the Religious Education or Initiation Programs. Confirmation is celebrated for adults at Pentecost and for teens on a scheduled date in the Spring. For more information contact the parish office.

HOLY ORDERS is celebrated at the diocesan level. Saint Pius X supports and encourages vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Information is available through the Vocations Office of the Diocese.

Other Liturgical Celebrations

ORDER OF CHRISTIAN FUNERALS is the rite for the celebration of birth into Eternal Life. The Order consists of the Vigil, the Eucharist, and the Committal. Families are invited to work with one of the priests to determine the fitting celebration that best meets their needs.

An early weekday morning Communion Service and the recitation of the Rosary are other liturgical celebrations. See the parish bulletin for the weekly schedule.
